Leading the global field with a new technology ...
As an innovative UK-based technology company with our own IPR, Firewalk Technology Limited are well positioned to attack the rapidly growing global problem of counterfeit goods. These are being manufactured and passed off as the genuine item in ever greater numbers, costing product and brand owners dearly.
In 2008, the US government seized counterfeit goods to the value of US$270m, up 38% from 2007. The number of seizures was up over 10%. In Europe the picture is worse with the number of seizures growing by 16.2% to 43,000 p.a. Ernst & Young's 2008 report, ‘Pirates of the 21st century: The consumer goods industry under attack’, found that two thirds of the companies surveyed are affected by counterfeit goods. Over 78% are regularly affected by trademark and product piracy.
The market for anti-counterfeit solutions is substantial. Firewalk Technology is currently backed via privately held investment funding. A structured investment programme has culminated in the development of innovative technology. We have leveraged this to bring three high value-adding solutions to market for brand owners.
