FAQs
The following questions are commonly asked of us. If you have any other specific queries that aren't covered here please
email us for an answer.
A: They can each:
be applied as a stand-alone solution (generically or customised);
act as a replacement for other anti-counterfeit defence technologies;
be complimentary to other technologies;
be integrated into other anti-counterfeit products, eg. RFID.
Anti-counterfeit protection flows from several elements. Secure serialisation and labelling are thus only one key part in our overall range of solutions.
A: We can integrate our FirewalkTM solutions with:
any other labelling or tagging technology;
RFID, AIDC and EAS technologies;
specialised ink and security printing techniques;
customised lamination and special materials;
barcoding and other non-secure ID technologies;
optical, holographic and tamper-evident technologies.
The governing factor is usually whether integration adds more value than applying our solution as a straightforward replacement.
A: These are:
assuring the authenticity of individually manufactured items;
preventing supply chains from moving counterfeit goods;
empowering consumers to verify product authenticity;
enabling brand owners to identify consumer end-users.
Our solutions fully intergrate into client-run enterprise resource planning (ERP) sytems to the degree required. They enable data capture, CRM & data mining to the extent needed, adding value to enteprise-wide business processes.
A: We operate an open, structured and transparent process:
we firstly define and agree client objectives for this technology;
we then help build a business case to clearly define the ROI;
we tailor the solution to best suit the project's needs;
we project plan and manage the implementation.
A: We incorporate several newly developed techniques, hence why we have protected our IPR with patents. There are three main technological factors.
Firstly, we apply secure mass serialisation. In other words, every product produced inherits a truly unique security number. Security numbers are guaranteed to be unpredictable and uncrackable, (even if you do happen to have the odd quantum computer handy!).
Secondly, uniquely, our solution enables you to also check the authenticity of people attempting to authenticate your product. This includes supply chain organisations (including retailers), third parties you choose to work with (eg. border authorities) and end users.
Thirdly, all codes systematically "self-destruct" in a controlled way as a client's product progresses from manufacture, through a supply chain, across borders and to an end user. Codes can therefore never be systematically captured and re-used.
Practicality makes the final difference to our truly effective security solution:
both suppliers & end users are specifically motivated to check items;
there's no confusion - no special knowledge or tools are needed;
authentication is quick and simple, leaving no doubt.
A: Our solution is secure and rests on a very low cost coding approach using a patented technology which is simply uncrackable. Other technologies often rely on complexity as the defence mechanism. Unfortunately:
complexity costs and the end user has to pay;
counterfeiters eventually catch up;
users are often unable to tell, say, a fake hologram from a real one.
Our technology thus wins because:
The bottom line ...
As our solutions deliver returns on investment (ROI) that can be measured:
our technology makes product security an added-value, not a cost.
